Whatever else the Fed will try to stem the mess that Greenspan has made, this is one thing they for certain will not try (hint: fiscal responsbility).
Ooo, and I was correct yesterday when I guessed (with some help from the tagged article) that the Fed was acting to protect Bear Stearns which is now an official zombie bank (being kept alive on life support).
