Netbooks: The Future of Notebook Computing?

Fascinating article.  Another example of how development aimed at one thing (3rd world computing) ends up being used for something else (travel computers for the developed world).  I definitely think this is the future of computers, less power, less memory, smaller, almost everything online.

You are correct sir. Especially now that the Goog is coming out with their whole "store your entire hard drive in our cloud so you don't need your own computer" thing. This is one place I think Apple is dropping the ball (and I hate saying it because I am of course an Apple fanboy.)

And actually, if you check out this link http://tinyurl.com/dclzza you can see that you can have a netbook that runs an OS that doesn't make you want to rip your arm off and beat yourself to death with it.

I'm going to have to try that out so I don't have to drag my monster machine around anymore.
