Glad to see the ACLU is watching out for Us

Whatever one thinks of the issues surrounding the ACLU's lawsuit against a Northern Florida school district, the results are ironic in the extreme. For instance:

"For example, the Pace High School teachers handbook asks teachers to 'embrace every opportunity to inculcate, by precept and example, the practice of every Christian virtue.' "

Thank you ACLU, for protecting us from the "practice of every Christian virtue." God forbid our society be infested with those obnoxious practices like love, patience, gentleness, kindness, care for the poor, sick, and dying. Now we can all get back to living our normal, self-centered lives.

Mr. Staver said the district also agreed to forbid senior class President Mary Allen from speaking at the school's May 30 graduation ceremony on the chance that the young woman, a known Christian, might say something religious.

Thanks again, ACLU for protecting us from being exposed to what "a known Christian" might say. She might even mention the name "Jesus." Fortunately, we don't have to worry about that now. Abortion, drugs, alcohol, shacking up, and sex? No problem. Jesus? Big problem.
