But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40.31

LeMond vs. Fignon, 1989
My favorite stage of my favorite race ever. Greg LeMond is down by 50 seconds to Laurent Fignon going into the final stage of the 1989 Tour de France which is, surprisingly, a time trial. Fignon says that LeMond doesn't have the heart to catch him. Is that so, Mr. Fignon?
Yep! They didn't have an average faster speed in a time trial until just last year (I think). Closest Tour de France in history. Yellow jersey changed between Fignon and LeMond two times each. LeMond got dropped on the climb to L'Alpe D'huez. Unbelievable race. Hey! Those '80's styles were awesome, baby!!

34 mph!?!?! That's almost as outrageous as the outfits everybody in the audience was wearing!
