But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40.31

The Afghanistan Quagmire
My main concern about getting into Afghanistan was the historical realization that it has been the graveyard of empires dating back to before Alexander the Great. I sure wish George Bush would have understood this, perhaps we wouldn't be there 9 years after the war started which is now even longer than the Russian occupation! Patrick Cockburn points out the depressingly obvious truth: We are in a quagmire in Afghanistan and not even those who are on our side like us. This is not going to end well.

Sad but true reality.
History books should be required reading for politicians.
I'm not convinced that politicians CAN read!
