Thomas Sowell is Brilliant; Editor of Time Magazine? Not so Much

Mr. Sowell weighs in on the current debate concerning whether or not the Constitution is still relevant. Just the fact that someone (Time magazine editor, big surprise there) is asking that question demonstrates a toxic blend of fundamental nonunderstanding (yeah, that's the "created" word I want) of history and nitwittery masquerading as reason.

A favorite part of the article:

In Mr. Stengel's rehash of this argument, he declares: "People on the right and left constantly ask what the framers would say about some event that is happening today."

Maybe that kind of talk goes on where he hangs out. But most people have enough common sense to know that a constitution does not exist to micro-manage particular "events" or express opinions about the passing scene.
