Zune Bites the Dust

Yet another Microsoft product with a stupid name bites the dust. Microsoft will no longer produce the (non)selling, unfortunately named Zune. They have decided to focus on the much more succinctly and brilliantly named "Windows Phone Seven."

Note to Microsoft: Fire whoever names your products.

Microsoft and Naming Products

Whatever else one can say about Microsoft and their (pathetic) products, whoever is naming their stuff should be fired. The latest is their answer to Google, a search engine named Bing. Bing? Seriously? That's the best you could do? These are the people who brought you the incredible iPod killer called the Zune. What exactly is a zune? Do they throw darts against a wallboard filled with letters to inspire names for product lines? And what did they name the product that one computer magazine dubbed the worst product for 2007? Vista. Apple puts out Leopard and Jaguar and OSX, but Microsoft cranks out bings, and zunes, and here's an original name, Windows 7! Wow, inspiring.
