This is a fascinating, and ultimately sad, article detailing how an L. A. Times reporter comes to faith, begins reporting on religion, and then loses his own faith. Two points to make about this story. 1. In a world with no God, there can be no ultimate morality. The reporter doesn't investigate by what basis he can have outrage at the (rightly) outrageous things done in the name of religion (like child sexual abuse and Bennie Hinn). If we all just evolved, they are simply acting according to their evolved nature, why condemn them, they can't do anything else.
2. Many things are done in the name of religion that have no connection at all to the morality which Christ espoused in the Sermon on the Mount.
