This is just more proof that the theory that man is responsible for global warming is a pile of crapola. Amazing. In any other academic endeavor this guy would be sent off to the "outpost for pathetic scientists." Instead he'll probably be made a big-wig government scientist. From the article:

In 2007 he was forced by Mr Watts and Mr McIntyre to revise his published figures for US surface temperatures, to show that the hottest decade of the 20th century was not the 1990s, as he had claimed, but the 1930s.
But whether, on the basis of such evidence, it is wise for the world's governments to embark on some of the most costly economic measures ever proposed, to remedy a problem which may actually not exist, is a question which should give us all pause for thought.

What kills me is the blatant abuse of statistical method. These guys are correlating data meaning they have found a relationship between temperature "rise" and ice melt, CO2, etc. Yet in any introductory data analysis class the first thing you learn is that you cannot make futuristic predictions based off a correlation and no academic publication would accept that data. The worst part, Al Gore gets a Nobel prize for doctoring data to make a buck...lame.
Today my professor said that at this present time we are at least 18 degrees cooler than the warmest period of the earth. Classic.
I know EJ, it drives me crazy, and the nitwits at the Today show are at the four corners of the earth THIS WEEK, talking about what a disaster Global Warming is.
