Outcome of Two Cultural Revolutions

This is a fascinating piece, The Outcome of Two Cultural Revolutions: While China Turns Christian, Europe Turns Muslim, comparing the cultural revolution in China with the cultural revolution in the West. The Chinese cultural revolution discredited Marxism in China and the author argues led directly to the rise of Christianity. The cultural revolution in the West, the "hippie youth rebellion" as the author calls it, attacked all cultural institutions and, in essence, succeeded. The result is put very well by George Weigel, "Europe, bored, asks only to be left alone with its pleasures." Hmm, sounds amazingly like what Francis Schaeffer predicted 30 years ago would happen. Interestingly, the author is not, himself, a believer.
